Another twist is Arsenal’s hopes of signing defender Riccardo Calafiori has emerged with ‘legal action’ from Serie A side Roma potentially delaying a deal.

A fee is said to have been agreed between Arsenal and Bologna.

Talks continue between Bologna and Calafiori’s former club Basel, who have a 50% sell-on clause.

However, Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that Roma, the player’s former club before Basel, are now getting involved.

Roma also had a 50% sell-on clause when they sold Calafiori to Basel, earning £1.2 million when he was sold to Bologna.

But Roma now believe that they are entitled money from the profit due to his imminent move to Arsenal.

It has now reportedly seen both clubs hire lawyers to try and sort the situation.
